Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child (2022-2027)

Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child (2022-2027)

This strategy is needed to address complex and cross-cutting issues. One of the obstacles to the effective protection of the rights of the child is the tendency to work in silos, happening at all levels - international, European, national, regional and local. By bringing all key stakeholders on board, a strategy can effectively address issues that have multiple dimensions and assign clear roles to all actors. Strong political commitment and good governance paired with the allocation of sufficient resources and a broad societal awareness of the rights of the child are thus fundamental to ensuring that children are seen and treated as full rights-holders.
